Astronomer is launching an investigation after its CEO and its HR head were allegedly seen in a viral Codyplay concert video.
On LinkedIn, the AI and data company released a statement saying its "Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly,” the statement added.
According to Astronomer, it is "committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.”
The company has clarified that its CEO "Andy Byron has not put out any statement."
"Reports saying otherwise are all incorrect,” the company added.
"Andy Byron" became a top trending topic on Internet Friday after a fan-taken video of a Coldplay concert in Boston, USA of the band’s jumbotron went viral.
Coldplay's jumbotron focused on a cozy-looking couple, as the man hugged the woman from behind.
But as vocalist Chris Martin said, "Oh look at these two," the man instantly ducked down from the frame, while the woman turned away from the camera.
"Either they're having an affair, or they're just very shy," Martin continued.
As the video made the rounds online, netizens tracked down the identities of the couple. They have been identified as Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot.
Byron is said to be married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, while Cabot had been divorced from Kenneth Thornby since 2022.
Apart from Byron and Cabot, internet sleuths thought they had identified the horrified woman as third Astronomer employee Alyssa Stoddard but in its statement, the company cleared her name.
"Alyssa Stoddard was not at the event and no other employees were in the video," the statement read.
