Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. affirmed on Thursday the preparedness of the 403rd Infantry (Peacemaker) Brigade and the entire 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division to serve and secure the 2025 elections in Mindanao.
AFP Public Affairs Office head Col. Xerxes Trinidad said Brawner issued the declaration during his visit at Camp Osito Bahian, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon where he was joined by Maj. Gen. Michele Anayron Jr., commander of the 4th Infantry Division and Col. Emil Cruz, acting commander of the 403rd Infantry Brigade.
Brawner reminded the troops of their vital responsibility in the coming elections and told them to uphold neutrality and remain steadfast in their constitutional mandate.
"The AFP will remain neutral and nonpartisan, so let us make sure that the upcoming election will be fair, orderly and reliable," he said.
The visit was part of the the chief of staff's efforts to ensure that military units are mission-ready and aligned with the AFP's commitment to a secure and peaceful electoral process.
