MANILA, Philippines — Healthway Medical Network (HMN), a subsidiary of AC Health, has launched Healthway Cebu Velez General Hospital (HCVGH), expanding high-quality and patient-centered health care services in the Visayas.
Formerly known as Cebu Velez General Hospital, the health care facility now enters a new era through its integration into HMN.
The launch of HCVGH marks the culmination of months of transformation, modernization and alignment with HMN’s clinical and operational standards.
AC Health chairman Fernando Zobel de Ayala noted the significance of the hospital’s transformation as part of the Ayala Group’s long-term commitment to health care.
“For many decades, the Velez name has stood for compassion, service and excellence in health care and education. This hospital has shaped generations of health care professionals and has touched countless lives here in Cebu. We are deeply honored to be part of this legacy and even more honored to help carry it forward,” he said.
AC Health president and CEO Paolo Borromeo also emphasized the role of HCVGH in strengthening health care capacity across the region.
“(HCVGH) is a vital part of AC Health’s goal of building a stronger, more connected healthcare system nationwide. By combining Velez’s deep roots in Cebu with HMN’s technology, standards and operational expertise, we are bringing world-class care closer to families in the Visayas,” he said.
The integration of HCVGH accelerates HMN’s expansion across the country. Aside from HCVGH, HMN also operates a multi-specialty clinic and six corporate clinics in Cebu.
