MANILA, Philippines — The Lopezes have found a white knight in the Villars again, this time for the platform that would screen shows dropped by TV5 Network Inc. in its fallout with ABS-CBN Corp.
In a statement, ABS-CBN said the Advanced Media Broadcasting System Inc. (AMBS) will air the Kapamilya Channel on ALLTV starting Jan. 2, 2026.
AMBS, which owns ALLTV, is improving the channel’s lineup with the introduction of some of the highest-rated shows produced by ABS-CBN.
ALLTV will be screening ABS-CBN’s top-ranking content Batang Quiapo, What Lies Beneath, It’s Showtime, ASAP and TV Patrol by Jan. 2.
Likewise, ABS-CBN will still be televising primetime shows It’s Showtime and Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 on GMA-7.
The license obtained by AMBS marks another phase in the partnership with ABS-CBN. ALLTV has been carrying some of ABS-CBN’s programs since 2024, including shows under the Jeepney TV brand.
For ABS-CBN, the expanded collaboration with AMBS also ensures that its primetime materials would still be reaching its audience, albeit through another platform.
Last week ABS-CBN’s effort to return to profitability by 2026 was hit with a setback when TV5 Network Inc. terminated their TV Content Supply Agreement on delays in payment.
TV5 revoked the partnership after ABS-CBN failed to remit revenue share on time, as the latter is finding it difficult to settle its obligations given its current position where it is still bleeding.
ABS-CBN said it has now settled its dues to TV5 in accordance with each party’s agreements. It extended its gratitude to TV5 for airing select ABS-CBN programs since 2021.
At present, ABS-CBN said it is focused on identifying fresh platforms where its shows could be screened. The former broadcast leader told its supporters to hang on, as it will keep on producing entertainment and news materials in spite of the challenges it is facing.
