Enjoyed tremendously our Christmas lunch with Papal Nuncio Archbishop Charles Brown, Msgr. Guiseppe Terendue, Sister Emily, Sister Rachelle, and Sister Lenny.

Such a very awesome gathering of friends feeling the presence and blessings of righteousness in our midst. Amb. Nader and Mme. Nancy Zaki of Egypt, and Amb. Yuliia Fediv of Ukraine were in attendance to join the banquet. Hosting chef Bambi Javelosa was so enthralled with the almost perfect attendance of all those she invited.''

This time, she prepared a delectable spread of Filipino food. Kare-kare, sotangon, pork chops, binagoongang pork and fried lumpia were all our favorites. Music provided by a quartet led by Mabel Bautista, accompanied by musicians with stringed instruments, was so festive yet very relaxing.

Philippine envoy to the United Nations, the lovely Nikki Teodoro, made an extra effort to be with the group for lunch, as she herself is always busy doing work at the UN and supporting her husband,  Secretary of National Defense Gilbert Teodoro. The wonderful titas — Tita Lulu Goquingco, Tita Helen Ong, Tita Menchu Concepcion, Tita Linda Tiangco, Tita Dely Fernandez — who themselves are accomplished ladies, yet their humility and sincerity are beyond reproach, have captivated the hearts and admiration of the younger members of the group.

They bring joy and brighten up our gatherings with their candidness and youthful attitude towards life. Another memorable and joyous luncheon, indeed, for the Amigas y Amigos group, filled with many intertwining garlands of friendships, since time past, wholesome fun, and infectious laughter echoing within the walls of chef Bambi’s residence.
