An animated movie centering around Philippine mythology is coming to theaters soon!

According to a report by Variety, DreamWorks Animation will be releasing the animated feature “Forgotten Island” on September 25, 2026.

Directed by Januel Mercado, “Forgotten Island” is a “comedy adventure that will transport the film’s protagonist to a long forgotten, magical island rooted in Philippine mythology.”

Other details, such as the plot and characters, have yet to be revealed.

DreamWorks is the American film studio behind the hit animated movie franchises “How to Train Your Dragon,” “Shrek,” and “Kung Fu Panda,” among others. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA Integrated News
