A TOTAL of 50 out of Baguio City's 128 barangay (villages) passed the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB) program, according to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Baguio City Field Office.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong congratulated the villages for their exemplary performances that earned them the coveted seals.
The mayor noted that the awardees increased from 35 barangay last year, which he said is a good sign that more villages are exerting efforts to improve their governance and programs.
According to the DILG, the SGLGB is the department's "flagship program" that centers on "performance assessment and recognition system designed to distinguish barangay with outstanding performance across various governance areas."
These areas are Financial Administration and Sustainability (FAS), Disaster Preparedness (DP), Safety, Peace and Order (SPO), Social Protection and Sensitivity (SPS), Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness (BFC), and Environmental Management (EM).
