LAGUNA, Philippines — Five people were arrested following a raid that resulted in the seizure of unregistered alcohol products worth of P1.5 million in Biñan, Laguna on Tuesday night.
Warehouse supervisor Lowel Nieva, Michael Kenneth Lalap, Ryan Ilustre, Edcel Talento and Boon Patrick Aguilar are facing charges for allegedly violating the Consumer Act of the Philippines and the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009.
The suspects were placed under the custody of the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Calabarzon.
The raid stemmed from information about the illegal distribution and sale of unregistered alcohol products in a warehouse in Barangay San Antonio, according to the CIDG-Calabarzon.
The CIDG launched the operation after one of the suspects accepted the marked money from a police officer who posed as a buyer in exchange for alcohol products.
