This Holy Week, as the world remembers the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for mankind and His glorious resurrection, why not spend some time listening to some good Christian music?
You're probably familiar with the music of Don Moen, Bukas Palad, Jamie Rivera, and Gary V. To add to your growing playlist of Christian songs, here are five more inspirational tracks that are good not just to the ear but to the soul as well.
1. 'I Could Sing of Your Love Forever' - Andre Valadao
Andre Valadao, 47, is a Christian singer from Brazil and is a songwriter and worship pastor. Having come from a musical family, Andre was once part of the band Diante do Trono which was led by his sister Ana Paula Valadao.
Andre went solo in 2004 and has 12 albums to his name so far. He was twice nominated for a Latin Grammy for two of his albums, "Sobrenatural" and "Fe." His 2017 album "Bossa Worship" is on the author's playlist.
Here's a sample song from that album, "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever."
2. 'Goodness of God' - Israel Houghton
Israel Houghton, 53, is a Grammy award winning singer, songwriter, producer, and worship leader. Based in the United States, Israel also has a band called Israel & New Breed. His music is pop/contemporary gospel, and some of his songs like "Friend of God" and "You are Good" are staples in some churches on Sundays.
During the pandemic, he produced the two-part album "Feels Like Home," a live concert recorded in, well, a home. One of the beautiful soulful tracks in that album is "Goodness of God" featuring Cristabel Clack.
3. 'How Beautiful' - Twila Paris
No doubt you have heard Gary V's excellent interpretation of "The Warrior is a Child." This song was written by Twila Paris, a Christian singer-songwriter with 22 albums, one of which is "The Warrior Is a Child." Twila has been named Gospel Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year three times and was inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame.
Listen to her beautiful composition "How Beautiful" which she sings so wonderfully.
4. 'You Say' - Lauren Daigle
American contemporary Christian singer and songwriter Lauren Daigle, 33, is a Grammy winner. She also has had Billboard-topping albums and singles, and she has won 12 GMA Dove Awards.
Her Christmas album "Behold" is a treasure and features traditional Christmas carols with a jazz beat. Here is her Grammy award-winning song "You Say".
5. 'Choose to Believe' - Julianne Tarroja
Filipina singer Julianne Tarroja has won awards from the 21st and 27th Awit Awards. In 2014, she recorded "Pansamantagal," a duet with Sitti. She has recorded two albums.
Here's her jazzy Christian song "Choose To Believe."
