MANILA, Philippines — As the registration of voters continues, at least 48,722 people have registered for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao or BARMM parliamentary election in November, the Commission on Elections said.
The Comelec said the registrants filed their applications between Feb. 9 and March 6. The registration period runs until March 31.
Maguindanao del Norte recorded the highest number of registrants with 11,206 followed by Lanao del Sur with 11,094 and Basilan with 7,625.
Maguindanao del Sur had 6,913 applicants, Tawi-Tawi had 6,255 and the Special Geographic Area, 5,629.
The Comelec earlier called on BARMM residents to register for the Nov. 2 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
The youth election was originally scheduled in 2025, but was moved to this year following the signing of Republic Act 12232.
