MANILA, Philippines — Three more police officers have been implicated in the hazing of new members of the Philippine National Police in Lamitan, Basilan.
PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño said the additional respondents brought to 57 the total number of officers charged for violating Republic Act 11053 or the Anti-Hazing Act. Twelve of them are under restrictive custody.
The three hold the rank of patrolman.
Tuaño said 18 others would be brought to the regional police headquarters where they will be placed under restrictive custody.
He said 24 more are unaccounted for and will be marked AWOL or absent without leave if they fail to report to their superiors soon.
The National Police Commission has started its own investigation and case build-up against the respondents.
