COTABATO CITY — Anti-narcotics agents seized P102,000 worth of shabu from three Maguindanaon men who were allegedly operating a drug den and peddling illegal drugs near school campuses during an entrapment operation in Barangay Rosary Heights in Cotabato City on Saturday, February 14.

The three suspects are detained at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao facility in PC Hill, Cotabato City.

Edgar Jubay, director of PDEA-BARMM, told reporters on Monday, February 16, that their agents, along with personnel from the Cotabato City Police Office under Col. Jibin Bongcayao and operatives from different units of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, immediately arrested the three suspects after the latter sold them P102,000 worth of shabu during a tradeoff in Purok Shariff in Barangay Rosary Heights 10.

Barangay Rosary Heights 10 is located in the western part of Cotabato City, BARMM's regional capital.

Jubay said the entrapment operation that led to the arrest of the three suspects was supported by barangay officials in Rosary Heights 10, Cotabato City Mayor Bruce Matabalao and Brig. Gen. Jaysen De Guzman, director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

Barangay officials told reporters that the three suspects facilitated pot sessions in their drug den for buyers of their illegal merchandise and occasionally sold marijuana to buyers in different areas in Cotabato City.

PDEA-BARMM agents and policemen have also arrested 17 other drug den operators in separate entrapment operations, supported by the city government in recent months. All of them are now being prosecuted in different courts for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
