ITOGON, Benguet — Three residents here died while another one was being treated at the hospital after a pick-up truck they were riding on plunged into a ravine in Sitio Camanggaan, First Gate, Barangay Ucab, Itogon town in Benguet on Monday morning, Jan. 13.
The Itogon police identified the fatalities as Amayag Oplas, 29, driver; Ruvelyn Agapinan, 27; and Charles Oplas, 21. In hospital was Luisito David Bacoco, 14. The three fatalities were all residents of Luneta, Antamok, Barangay Loacan, Itogon.
The four individuals were aboard a pick-up truck traveling along the Baguio-Ucab Road in Itogon town when they rammed into a concrete barrier, resulting in the driver losing control of the vehicle that eventually dived into a 100-meter ravine.
Oplas was declared dead on the spot while the three others were rushed to the hospital.
