CORON, Philippines — Lee Jun-ho, better known as Junho of the boy band 2PM, is the latest Korean celebrity to get a wax statue at Madame Tussauds.

The Hong Kong branch of the entertainment attraction announced last February 25 that Junho would be getting a wax figure of himself as he participated in a four-hour sitting process in South Korea.

"It was fascinating to see even the smallest details being recorded,” Junho said in a statement. “Preparing my wax figure felt like starting a new project, filled with excitement and a desire to do my best."

Wade Chang, general manager of Merlin Entertainments Hong Kong, praised Junho as an artist who “embodies the essence of both stage and screen, captivating a truly global fanbase.”

“His wax figure will serve as a striking symbol of the vibrant cultural phenomenon that is the Hallyu today,” Chang added in a statement.

The 36-year-old Junho debuted with 2PM in 2008 then ventured into solo activities five years later with a number of Japanese and Korean album releases.

That same year, 2013, he made his acting debut in the film “Cold Eyes,” which he followed up with projects like “Twenty,” “Memories of the Sword,” “Memory,” “Good Manager,” “Rain or Shine,” “Wok of Love,” “Confession,” and “Homme Fatale.”

Junho won the Baeksang Arts Awards for Best Actor for his 2021 movie “The Red Sleeve.” After his acting nod, he starred in “King the Land,” “Typhoon Family,” and “Cashero.”

Once finished, Junho’s wax figure will join statues of fellow Koreans in Madame Tussauds Hong Kong like Ahn Hyo-seop, Kim Soo-hyun, Hyun Bin, Lee Jong-suk, Bae Suzy, and Jung Hae-in.

The Hong Kong branch hosts the wax replicas of Filipinos Manny Pacquiao, Pia Wurtzbach, Catriona Gray, Anne Curtis, and soon Kathryn Bernardo. A wax figure of Lea Salonga, meanwhile, can be viewed at the Singapore branch on Sentosa island.
