CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City — Three uniformed personnel were among the 29 apprehended individuals since law enforcers started the implementation of gun ban in Northern Mindanao in relation to the May 2025 local and national elections.
The regional police command here said on Saturday that as of Feb. 11, 28 firearms and 229 rounds of ammunition were seized in a series of police operations across the region.
Police regional director Brig. Gen. Jaysen de Guzman said that among those arrested were three uniformed personnel, one security guard and 25 civilians.
De Guzman did not identify the three uniformed personnel who were apprehended during the police operations.
He said that the intensified gun ban implementation included checkpoint operations, police response and patrol op-erations, and other law enforcement operations.

"The results of our operations demonstrate our dedication to keeping our communities safe and preventing unlawful possession of firearms," de Guzman said.
He added that the strict enforcement of the election gun ban is also to preempt and prevent election-related vio-lence to ensure public safety
