MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines is set to receive 22,000 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) between the second and third week of May.
In a virtual press conference on Wednesday, April 15, Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said that the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) placed the order this week.
Energy Undersecretary Alessandro Sales said that the PNOC ordered 22,000 metric tons.
“They've just signed for 22,000 metric tons of LPG. So, ang delivery window nitong cargo is sometime second to third week of May,” Sales said.

The delivery, according to Sales, may provide the country with a buffer stock of LPG.

According to DOE figures, the nation’s kerosene reserves are the most robust at 105 days.
This is followed by gasoline at 54 days and diesel at 49 days, while the LPG supply remains the tightest with a 36-day buffer.
