2026 is the year for the coming of foldable iPhones

1 week ago 7

Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has provided fresh insights into Apple’s anticipated foldable iPhone, suggesting a potential release in late 2026.

The foldable iPhone is expected to feature a book-style design, incorporating a 7.8-inch crease-free inner OLED display and a 5.5-inch outer screen. This design aims to offer users a seamless experience, addressing common issues like screen creases found in current foldable devices.

Apple plans to use a titanium alloy casing with a hinge made from stainless steel and titanium alloy, contributing to the device’s durability and premium feel. The foldable iPhone is projected to measure between 9 and 9.5 mm when folded, and approximately 4.5 to 4.8 mm when unfolded, making it one of the slimmest foldable smartphones upon release.

The device is rumored to include a dual-lens rear camera and front-facing cameras accessible in both folded and unfolded states. Notably, to conserve internal space, Apple might replace Face ID with a Touch ID fingerprint scanner integrated into the side button.

Mass production is anticipated to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026, with an official launch expected later that year. The foldable iPhone is projected to be priced between $2,000 and $2,500, positioning it as a premium offering in Apple’s product lineup.

Apple’s entry into the foldable smartphone market reflects its commitment to innovation, aiming to provide users with advanced technology and design.
