BACOLOD CITY — Two persons died when a pickup truck slammed into a hauler truck in Hacienda Tibay Lopez, Barangay Efiganio Lizares, Talisay City on Saturday evening.

The police identified the fatalities as Ford Ranger driver Nilo Epanto, 38, who died on Sunday morning, and his passenger Ronjun Caballero who was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician at the hospital.

Paul Simon Puertillano, also a passenger of the pickup truck, and Galy Antipatian, the 50-year-old driver of the hauler truck, suffered injuries.

Maj. Rhazl Jim Jocson, deputy chief of the Talisay City Police Station, said the empty hauler truck was heading to Bacolod City and the pickup was heading in the opposite direction.

Jocson said Antipatian attempted to overtake the vehicle in front but lost control of the truck which collided head-on with the oncoming pickup.
