HEALTH centers in Parañaque City could soon get an upgrade as private social enterprise 1Life Inc. steps in to equip the city's barangay health facilities with early detection and preventive health care tools.
1Life Inc. Vice President for Community Health Care Partnerships Kenneth So and Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez inked a memorandum of agreement on March 6, which would bring 1Life's early detection and preventive health care technology to about 20 barangay health centers and benefiting almost 500,000 city residents.
Some of the basic diagnostic services that Parañaque residents can avail of through the partnership include blood chemistry; full abdomen ultrasound; chest X-ray; fetal doppler for pregnant patients; respiratory rate and oxygen saturation measurements; urinalysis; and checking of blood sugar, uric acid, cholesterol, and hemoglobin levels.
Eric Ke, chief technology officer at 1Life Inc., said that as a social enterprise's mission is to make health care accessible to everyone, especially to indigent Filipinos by reducing the cost of health care services with the help of early detection and disease prevention tools.
Since its establishment, 1Life Inc. has already catered to almost one million patients all over the country.
