CEBU CITY – Twelve persons were injured when a passenger multicab turned on its side at the foot of the Marcelo Fernan Bridge in Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City on Sunday night, Aug. 3.
Among the injured is the driver of the multicab and four children aged two, three, seven, and nine, said Police Lt. Col. Christian Torres, information officer of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office.
The injured were taken to the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital.
The incident was captured by a security camera.
Based on the video, the multicab was travelling alongside a car.
The sedan hit the side of the multicab and the driver of the multicab lost control of the vehicle which fell on its side.
Torres said that sedan driver alleged that he tried to avoid a motorcycle in front of him, causing him to encroach on the lane occupied by the multicab.
Torres said an amicable settlement is being worked on by the lawyer of the sedan driver.
