MANILA, Philippines — At least 10 Catholic priests and one religious brother were among the successful examinees of the 2025 Bar Examinations.
In a report by the CBCP News on Thursday, January 8, these new lawyer-priests hail from diverse ministerial backgrounds, including local parishes, religious congregations, and the military chaplaincy.
The following members of the clergy and religious life have been identified as among the country's newest legal professionals, according to the greetings of the social media pages of their dioceses and religious organizations:
- Fr. Mcwellroe Bringas – Diocese of Tagum
- Fr. Marcelo Operiano Jr. – Diocese of Tagbilaran
- Fr. Danilo Dela Bajan – Diocese of Masbate
- Fr. Eric Marigondon – Diocese of Legazpi
- Fr. Gerald Lacson – Diocese of Antique
- Fr. Joel Pepito Oriesga – Archdiocese of Cebu
- Fr. Rommel Kiamko – Philippine Air Force (Military Ordinariate)
- Fr. Gil Rochar Dulay – Bureau of Fire Protection (Military Ordinariate)
- Fr. Generous Gonesto, OSA – Order of Saint Augustine (Augustinian Province of Santo Niño de Cebu)
- Fr. Florante Moren, AM – Alagad ni Maria (Disciples of Mary)
- Br. Dominador Valdez Jr., OFM – Franciscan Friars of the Philippines (Province of San Pedro Bautista)
The results, released by the Supreme Court on Wednesday, show that 5,594 out of 11,420 examinees successfully hurdled the digitalized tests, yielding a passing rate of 48.98%.
The examinations were held on September 7, 10, and 14, 2025, across 14 testing centers nationwide.
