A total of 1,907 bags of blood were collected through the Sagip-Dugtong Buhay project of the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
According to a report on "24 Oras," Monday, the blood donation drive was held on February 15 at the Ever Gotesco Mall in Quezon City.
Among the donors who made the effort to participate the day after celebrating Valentine's Day are Ronnie Bicoy and Elvie Manlapas, a couple.
The blood bags collected will be donated to different hospitals in the Philippines who are in need of blood.
"We are here to give love, to give love to our fellow men, to give love to our fellow Filipinos," GMA Kapuso Foundation Special Adviser Mel Tiangco said.
According to the Philippine Red Cross, the Sagip Dugtong Buhay project has helped over 215,000 individuals in need of blood since its launch in 1996.
