MANILA, Philippines — In observance of Rabies Awareness Month, 1,467 cats and dogs in Bulacan were spayed or neutered on Thursday.
Dr. Emmanuel Francisco, chief of the animal health and regulatory division of the Bulacan provincial veterinary office told The STAR that 1,467 cats and dogs in the province were spayed and castrated. Most of the animals were cats.
Bulacan provincial veterinarian Dr. Voltaire Basinang said the first nationwide “Mass Spay and Castration Project” was conducted in partnership with the Provincial, City and Municipal Veterinarians League of the Philippines, Philippine Veterinary Medical Association, and veterinary offices from various local governments who joined via Zoom.
