MANILA, Philippines — The number of overseas Filipinos intending to vote in the 2028 general elections has reached 1,459 overseas, according to the Commission on Elections.
The Comelec said that of the figure, 1,332 are new registrants while 127 submitted other types of applications.
The Comelec’s office for overseas voting is urging eligible Filipinos to register before the voter registration ends on Sept. 30, 2027.
Eligible overseas voters including those who are 18 years old by May 8, 2028 must register to be able to exercise their right to vote, the poll body said.
They may register at any Philippine embassy, consulate, the Manila Economic and Cultural Office or designated post abroad or registration centers in the Philippines.
